For Tabs

  • Ctrl+1-8: Switch to the tab you want to see. It starts from the left one.
  • Ctrl+9: Switch to the last tab.
  • Ctrl+Tab: Switch to the next tab, that is, the right tab of the current one. You can also use Ctrl+Page Up to switch to the next one. But, this keyboard shortcut is not available for Internet Explorer.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Tab: Switch to the previous tab, that is, the left tab of the current one. You can also use Ctrl+Page Down to switch to the next one. But, this keyboard shortcut is not available for Internet Explorer.
  • Ctrl+W or Ctrl+F4: Close the current tab.
  • Ctrl+Shift+T: Reopen the last closed tab.
  • Ctrl+T: Open a new tab on your web browser.
  • Ctrl+N: Open a new window on your web browser.
  • Alt+F4: Close all the tabs in the current web browser. This shortcut to close tab is also available for all other applications.

Mouse Actions for Tabs

  • Middle-click a tab: Close the tab. However, this shortcut to close tab may not be available in some web browsers like Chrome. You can use other close tab shortcut to do the work like Ctrl+W or Ctrl+F4
  • Ctrl+Left Click or Middle-click: Open a page in a background tab.
  • Shift+Left Click: Open a page in a new browser window.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Left Click: Open a page in a foreground tab.

Tab Navigation

  • Alt+Left Arrow: Go back to the previous web page.
  • Alt+Right Arrow: Forward to the previous web page.
  • F5: Reload/Refresh the current web page.
  • Ctrl+F5: Reload and skip the cache or re-downloading the entire website.
  • Escape: Stop.
  • Alt+Home: Open the homepage of your web browser.

Zooming the Web Page

  • Ctrl and + or Ctrl+Mousewheel Up: Zoom in the current web page.
  • Ctrl and - or Ctrl+Mousewheel Down: Zoom out the current web page.
  • Ctrl+0: Use the default zoom level.
  • F11: Use the full-screen mode.

  • Home: Go to the top of the web page.

Address Bar

  • Ctrl+L, Alt+D, or F6: Highlight the address bar for you to type a new address.
  • Ctrl+Enter: Prefix www. and append .com to the text that you have typed in the address bar, and then load the website. For example, type minitool into the address bar and press Ctrl+Enter to open minitool.com.
  • Alt+Enter: Open the page in the address bar in a new tab.

Search Box

  • Ctrl+K or Ctrl+E: Open the browser's built-in search box or the address bar if the web browser doesn't have a dedicated search box. (Ctrl+K doesn't work in IE, you need to use Ctrl+E)
  • Alt+Enter: Perform a search from the search box in a new web page.
  • Ctrl+F or F3: Open the in-page search box to search for content on the current web page.
  • Ctrl+G or F3: Go to the next match of the searched text on the web page.
  • Ctrl+Shift+G or Shift+F3: Find the previous match of the searched text on the web page.

History & Bookmarks

  • Ctrl+H: Open the browsing history.
  • Ctrl+J: Open the download history.
  • Ctrl+D: Add the current webpage to your bookmark.
  • Ctrl+Shift+Del: Open the Clear browsing data

Other Functions

  • Ctrl+P: Open the Print window for the current page.
  • Ctrl+S: Save the current web page to your computer in the form of Html.
  • Ctrl+O: Open a file from your computer.
  • Ctrl+U: View the current page's source code. (This keyboard shortcut doesn't work in IE.)
